SCHOOL COACHING - LONG TERM SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT
Each year Phyllis accepts one School District to coach, tailoring a Literacy Program to meet your District's goals and
uniting your buildings under a common Literacy Mission Statement. This is a long-term support offered for School Improvement.
Phyllis is brought into your District once a month to train "Literacy Liasions" to facilitate a shared mission statement while
establishing a common language and goals. Phyllis teaches the 5 Pillars of Literacy: Comprehension, Fluency, Phonics, Phonemic
Awareness, Vocabulary, plus Oral Langauge, Motivation, Organization, and Classroom-Based Assessment,
satisfying and exceeding the NCLB requirements.
The Coaching sessions are individually tailored to your District's needs. In the past, these have consisted of small group coaching, whole school in-service, in-class demonstrations and modeling, school assemblies incorporating music and literacy and much more.
